# Security

Security issues in code review refer to vulnerabilities and weaknesses within the code that can potentially compromise the security of an application.

These issues encompass a wide range of concerns, including authentication and authorization flaws, injection attacks, cross-site scripting (XSS), cross-site request forgery (CSRF), data encryption weaknesses, security misconfigurations, exposure of sensitive data, inadequate error handling and logging, insecure dependencies, and insufficient security testing.

By identifying and mitigating these security concerns early in the development lifecycle, teams can significantly reduce the risk of security breaches and safeguard the integrity of their software systems.

### **Managing rules for security-type issues**

You can manage these from the Settings > Code health > Rules.

You can filter these pre-defined rules based on severity, language, and type.\
Additionally, you have the option to toggle individual rules on and off to mark them as active or inactive.\
Once deactivated, the respective issue will no longer be highlighted during subsequent reviews.
