# Goals

To drive continuous improvement, your team should follow best development practices that align with your goals and improve software delivery metrics.

Typo Goals lets you set specific objectives, track progress, and gain performance insights, all while aligning with best practices to boost team efficiency. You can fully customize goals and set different targets for each team.

### Set up goals

Typo sets up a few goals for your teams as soon as your setup is complete.

To create a new goal, click on the Create Goals button & fill in the details mentioned below-&#x20;

* Goal Name - The name assigned to the goal.
* Success Rate - Indicates the percentage of time the goal was successfully met after it was implemented.
* Teams - Specifies the teams to which the goals apply. You can add or remove the teams by clicking on the edit icon&#x20;
* Goal Settings - Customizable options where you can define the specific details of the goal according to your team's requirements
* Status - Displays whether the goal is active or inactive for any of your teams. You can mark the goals as active or inactive by clicking on the toggle.
* Notification - Channel Designates the channel through which goal alerts will be sent if the goal is breached. You can click on any channel icon to disable the notification for it.
* View Detail button - By clicking this button, you can edit the goal settings and access more detailed analytics related to that particular goal.

### Smart Alerts

After setting your goals, Typo sends you goal-specific alerts to keep you informed and on track.

These alerts are tailored to your goal settings and serve as prompts for areas that require quick improvements, ensuring you stay proactive in achieving your objectives. You can manage these alerts from notifications in settings.
